Home-made Taco Seasoning

I really love tacos but frankly I don’t like seeing a list of ingredients that can include anti-caking agents, modified corn starch (whatever that means, right?), coloring agents, and numerous other chemicals masquerading as ingredients in my food.  Sooo I made up my own recipe for taco seasonings.  It has only real spices and seasonings and is a good substitute for conventional taco seasoning packets found at the grocery store.

Home-made Taco Seasoning (for 1lb of ground meat)

2 teaspoons pink Himalayan sea salt

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon cumin powder

½ teaspoon paprika powder

½ teaspoon oregano

Dash of fresh ground black pepper

¼ cup apple cider vinegar

1 ½ cups of water

Brown the meat in large pan.  While meat is cooking combine all ingredients in a small bowl and stir to blend ingredients.  Add mixture to meat in the pan and bring to a boil stirring constantly.  Reduce heat and cover pan. Simmer until most of the liquid is absorbed (usually about 5 minutes).
